Comprehensive Care Centre (Nilavarapatti)
A well-managed home where approximately 60 boys living with AIDS, up to 16 years old, receive not only shelter, nutritious food, and medication (Bill Gates’ AIDS treatments), but also social support. From here, the children attend local schools, receive education, and find hope for a longer life through their medication and the opportunity for an independent future. Only those children who are orphans or cannot remain in their own communities for other reasons are admitted to the home. Additionally, around 350 families with AIDS-affected children receive what is known as Home Based Care. The children stay within their communities and receive the necessary care, medication, nutrition, and social support at home. This home-based care is generally preferred, as it allows children to remain in their own environment. In 2018, the construction of new classrooms and restrooms was completed, made possible in part by your contributions.
