Kadambur – Microfinancing
Kadambur is a remote location nestled in a hilly and forested region, where illiterate tribes live in significant poverty. The Salesians (SDB) are working to foster small businesses through microfinancing initiatives. These efforts focus on establishing small sewing workshops, brick kilns, and enterprises that process forest products such as honey and tamarind. Additionally, several vocational training programs are offered through the SDB mission, along with evening education provided in the villages. An agricultural school is also in place on a farm, which not only imparts farming education but also raises awareness about the importance of protecting valuable herbs from the hills and forests.
