Kadambur is a remote location nestled in hilly and forested terrain, where illiterate tribes live in significant poverty. The Salesians (SDB) are working to foster small enterprises through microfinancing initiatives. These endeavors include small tailoring workshops, brick kilns, and businesses that process forest products, such as honey and tamarind.
Additionally, the SDB mission offers various vocational training programs and evening classes in the villages. Agricultural education is provided on a farm, while efforts are also being made to raise awareness about the necessity of protecting the valuable herbs found in the hills and forests.
