In het afgelegen Thalavadi is de bevolking zeer arm en het analfabetisme zeer hoog. De mensen leven hier veelal in hutjes, zonder elektriciteit. Ook transportmogelijkheden en andere faciliteiten zijn minimaal. Om ervoor te zorgen dat alle kinderen in Thalavadi naar school kunnen gaan, was uitbreiding van de school noodzakelijk. Daarom zijn in 2014 mede dankzij Stichting Pater Schlooz zes extra klaslokalen gebouwd.
